Zotero
In this example we are using Windows Firefox 25 Zotero plugin:
1. Download Zotero plugin for firefox on the desktop

Or download the zipped from from this site (updated 13Nov2013), and unzip the file on desktop.
You should be get a zotero-4.0.15.xpi (or a higher version) file.
2. Open Firefox and Ctr-shift-A to open Firefox Add-On
3. Click on the Gear and select "Install Add-on From File". Browser desktop and select the zotero-4.0.15.xpi (or a higher version) file. Firefox will then install the addon.
4. Once successfully installed, Firefox will reboot and there should be a "zotero" logo at the bottom right corner of the Firefox window. Click on the "zotero" logo to open zotero menu.
5. To install MS Word plugin, download the Firefox plugin:

Or from the zipped file in step 1: Zotero-WinWord-Plugin-3.1.14.xpi
6. Again open Firefox and Ctr-shift-A to open Firefox Add-On
7. Before installing the word plugin, ensure all your MS Office applications are closed. Click on the Gear and select "Install Add-on From File". Browser desktop and select the Zotero-WinWord-Plugin-3.1.14.xpi (or a higher version) file. Firefox will then install the addon.
8. Click on the "zotero" logo to open zotero menu and click on preference button (that look like a gear). Click on "Cite", you should see plugin is installed. If not, click on reinstall button.
9. Open MS Word, click on the Add-ins tab, you should see Zotero Addon buttons.
